Welcome to Stephen Raffay Photography
Stephen Raffay has been a professional photographer for 20 years. He’s been experiencing Africa since 1979 and has previously lived in South Africa for 4 years. Now his home base is in La Jolla, California. He returns to Africa each year to photograph its wilderness and wildlife. This website is created to share the beauty of Africa, its wildlife and tribal people.
The photographs taken are almost exclusively images from Kenya, Tanzania and South Africa although some of the flowers and butterflies exist in the United States and Europe. Many of the animals such as African Wild Dogs are highly endangered. All of the “big five” (rhino, leopard, buffalo, lion and elephant) are included as well many species of antelope, birds, hyena landscapes and other flora and fauna.
The Great Migration existing of two million wildebeest and eight hundred thousand zebra, the giant Baobab trees and the endangered, threatened and thriving wildlife photographs all make for wonderful gift cards and wall portraits.
